Formed in 2017, Evil Creek is a powerhouse acoustic rock band hailing from the vibrant city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The band unites a group of accomplished musicians who capture the power and authenticity of unplugged musical performances honed through years of road work and playing live. With their infectious sound and captivating performances, this talented group has been making waves in the local music scene and beyond.

Consisting of Mark Garrod on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Cliff Chamberlain on lead guitar and vocals, Steve Thompson on drums, Rus Miller on bass, and Johnny McConnell on keys, mandolin and vocals, Evil Creek has been redefining the acoustic rock genre with their distinct style and passionate lyrics.

Since their inception, Evil Creek has released three highly acclaimed EPs, with a fourth one on the horizon. Their debut EP “Dirt Road” introduced audiences to their raw and gritty sound, showcasing their songwriting prowess and undeniable energy. Tracks like “Something Stronger” and “Beautiful” quickly became fan favourites, solidifying the band’s debut as one to watch.

Following the success of their debut EP, Evil Creek released their sophomore effort, “Rust.” This EP showcased the band’s growth and maturity with a refined sound that resonated deeply with listeners. Tracks like “Like a Ghost” and “I Stand Alone” explored themes of introspection and personal growth, drawing listeners into the band’s captivating sonic universe.

Their third EP, “Away from the Sun,” demonstrated Evil Creek’s versatility as they experimented with different musical elements – all the while staying true to their rock roots. With powerful tracks like “Away From The Sun” and “A Little Messed Up” the band delved into themes of perseverance, inner strength, and the pursuit of a brighter future.

Evil Creek’s exceptional talent and dedication to their craft has not gone unnoticed. In both 2022 and 2023, they were honoured with the prestigious Music Group of the Year award in the Faces Magazine Ottawa Awards. This recognition solidifies their status as one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the local music scene. Additionally, their latest release, “Away from the Sun,” earned them the coveted Album of the Year award for 2023, further cementing their reputation as a force to be reckoned with.
